Another Day
Spinning class this morning was normal again as my health and form have come back. It actually went rather fast today as I focused on my goals for the 2006 season and tried not to watch the clock. Still no answer about what bike I'm riding this season, but it should be taken care of by the middle of next week hopefully. My team jersey was finalized yesterday and I should have a proof back from the company that is making them in a few weeks. Last evening the commute home from work was fun with two other employees from work. I kept my streak alive by again getting yelled at by a passing car. I just don't get it? When your on a bike path, how are you bothering these drivers as the cruise down the road. I think that they get jealous as they see us enjoying ourselves out riding along while getting exercise and saving money. One customer tried to explain to me that I wasn't saving anything because of the cost for the food I had to eat from burning more calories while riding a bicycle. My answer to him was that I needed to eat if I was commuting or not and the amount of food I eat is usually the same no matter what I'm doing. He still didn't get it? This morning it's off to the Co-op before work to get some more Heavy Pedal Roast Coffee that is roasted by the Peace Coffe Company out of the Minneapolis. This should put another three miles onto my commute and add to my Spring mileage total. Time on the bike is so important this Spring along with working on core strength, flexibility, and getting stronger mentally for the long 24 hour races. Check out the 29'r vs. 26 inch wheel bike comparison at CYCLINGNEWS.COM and see what you think about this endurance racers findings. This is very interesting considering that I have a Dos Niner and an Epic mountain bike that might have results that would be close to what were found here.
