Yesterdays commute to work became a twenty mile excursion as my new Garmin Edge 305 cycling computer persuaded my bike to take the long loop. This gps/cycling computer/heartrate monitor is amazing. I'll try to give more reports as I master and road test it more in the coming weeks. The down side to this toy driven detour was the temperature as it was hovering around 12 degrees with a strong NE wind. My glove choice was wrong and it took a better part of the morning to get my fingers thawed out once I got to work. Another mistake was not getting my cycling cloths dried out before the commute home after 8 pm last night. Cold isn't always bad if you start off the ride with being dry and toasty. Every piece of clothing from my beanie, jacket and gloves were still damp from my morning commute which I thought would have dried. I was close to becoming an ice cube when I rolled into the driveway. It's amazing what you can learn daily in life after a taking simple things for granted.
