Peace
On my cold training ride today I realized that my favorite retro part is my Ringle Peace brake cable hanger from the early 90's. Something that even Creepy Friendly might treasure in his collection of bikes and parts along with my Cook Brothers crankset. This was part of an assortment of anodized parts that ranged from the hubs, quick release skewers, seatpost clamps, etc. on my Yeti Pro Fro. It seemed like all the mid to high end XC bikes had at least one anodized trick part if you were just trying to be cool in the rapidly changing world of mountain biking during the CNC revolution of parts. The only thing this cool part on my cross bike helped with was making the cold and wet miles go by faster as I thought about the coming and going of these types of parts in the mountain bike world. I wonder what the next must have fad will be that catches the attention of the handful of us tech weenies that love cycling?
