The Norm this Spring?



The forecast was far from being accurate again as only five of us rolled out of the town center in Amherst. As you can see from the picture above, the snow was barely enough to even stick on the frame tubes or even the concrete. The 100km ride started with light snow flurries and temps near freezing. The km's ticked by slowly, but the sun finally appeared and the extra layers of clothing were removed as three of us enjoyed the complete route laid out for our own version of the Ronde van Vlaanderen (English: Tour of Flanders) while dreaming of the famous Koppenberg climb as we made our way up the Bestul Rd climb in the last four miles.

Even with bad weather, the last four weekends have been an amazing effort of camaraderie as a handful crazed cyclists have pounded out some good mileage on the frozen roads of Central Wisconsin. Next up...Point du Nord on April 12th. Pedal on...
