Big Wheel Sunday, Who Needs Football
What a difference one day makes when you start your rides in the morning. The temps were in the high thirties at the beginning and four hours later they were pushing the sixty degree mark with plenty of sunshine. The one advantage of finishing up a long ride around noon time on Packer football Sundays is that the streets are empty as the die hard fans have planted themselves in front of their wide screens. You gotta luv Wisconsin and the Packers! Another day of singletrack, hilly xc ski trail, and wide open rail trail have me pretty well adjusted to the Stumpy 29'r. Different wheels will go on in the next few days with the Stans tubeless set-up if time permits along with Ergon grips. My wrist and hands have been suffering without the Ergons, that should be delivered today as I've noticed that I drop my wrists a lot when I'm tired and that always leads to other achy problems on the bike . Otherwise the bike handles and feels great with no real issues at this time after my 5th good ride. 6 days and counting until the IceMan,

Great riding weather this morning, it looked like the Traverse City area was going to get somewhere around the 4 inch range today and night, should be gone by race day...maybe! We'll see you out there.
Yes, looking forward to seeing you there also. Perhaps we'll be able to hook up during the race. I do want to nail it off the start in the top 10 (ou age group) because if some escape off the front...
I'm with you CK on getting out with the leaders. Last year I got out in the top 3 and ended up 5th in the age group after bonking with 3-4 miles to go. If I don't see you on Friday night, I'll look for you on the starting line Saturday morning.
Shawn,
I'll keep my eyes open for the pink bike this weekend. I'll be around the Michigan Youth Cycling tent on Friday night.
