Yesterday afternoon our city cancelled school, the Special Olympics at the university and all other community activities for today because of the weather system that is suppose to hit around noon. High winds, rain, hail the size of golf and baseballs and possibly tornado's. Many parents are upset because of the additional make-up day that's now added to the already lengthened school year. In my mind nothing is wrong with taking these precautions after what happened earlier this Spring when a school was hit by a tornado in another part of the country. If nothing happens with this storm system at least we know that our communities emergency management team is on the ball with making a call to keep the kids and community safe. Time to ride before the weatherman says I can't. This morning looks like a mountain bike day with a loop that keeps me somewhat close to home and inside the city limits. Thursday, June 07, 2007
Severe Weather?

Okay so when are we going to have a normal week again. This weather is killing me. If the rain isn't bad enough the state bird (mosquitos) will be out in record numbers.
What's a normal week? I've forgotten.
This is what I love about living in the Midwest. Weather's boring out west.
