Hump Day
After this weekend and Tuesday's ride the rest of this week looks to be easy rides with maybe one day of accelerations to keep the legs properly tuned. Some bike maintenance is also high on the list of priorities along with cleaning out the gutters at home before the leaves and pine needles bring them down with the rain that's coming this week. After riding the marathon course on Monday, my bike set-up for this weekends WORS event will be to stiffen up the suspension, push the BIG RING like a mad man, and try to hold on to the other fast & furious racers for forty miles. "Big D" did make changes to the course since the first map appeared on the message board with a few more sections of singletrack to appease a few of the message board regulars. These sections will be like putting small chicanes into the Daytona 500 or Indy 500 race tracks. He has to regulate the speed somewhere and "Big D" put it best, "singletrack in mountain bike racing is just like carburetor restrictor plates in auto racing." Late Sunday we'll all have an opinion about this weekend with the new format and course. Pedal on...
