Flatted Out
Not a good day with a flat on the 3rd lap that ended my race day. Something wasn't good to tires as the rider ahead of me flatted 5-10 seconds before I crossed the stream. I ended up walking my bike out with two other racers that suffered the same fate. Besides being hot, I did get off to a good start with a few minor mistakes that left me alone on two laps in the open field section of the course. I was basically just bait for whatever group of racers were chasing. My singletrack speed seemed fine with just some suspension adjustments to make before Franklin for the Alterra race in Two weeks. The highlight of the day was getting home early enough for the fireworks display on the river and some unhealthy fried cheese curds. Life goes on...

hey Scott,
Which crossing did you flat in? The one with the pavers in it?

I flatted in the crossing without the pavers. T. Bender flatted just ahead of me at the same crossing on our third lap. We must have taken the same line? The hole in the center of the tire tread was about 3/16 of an inch in diameter. The Stan's sealant in the tire blew right through it. Thanks again to you and the volunteers for a great event.
