24-9 Course

Not many big surprises today when riding the course for next weekends race. Below are two downloads from my GPS from riding the 24-9 course following the posted map as closely as possible from the web. This was the second lap after trying to navigate correctly from the map with my many stops on lap one. I did miss one turn near "Check Point Charlie" & the "Flower Trail", but it would only add about 1/4 to 3/8 of a mile to the 13.4 mile lap I finished with. I believe that this is 90 percent accurate with a few stops and having to backtrack unless the course is changed when they mark it later in the week. The new section of ski trail that bypasses the long gravel climb(snowmobile trail) after the "Flower Trail" is fast at times, but it also has a few climbs with the last long one being covered with wood chips before crossing the snowmobile trail again and heading into the last two sections of "Ho Chi Minh". Otherwise, the course is pretty much the same as years past with the addition of new singletrack sections #6 & #13 which were both in the WORS race earlier this Summer. Pros: Great Venue with Fun singletrack Cons: The addition of more wide open ski trails and wood chip covered climbs.
