Day Off
This week is messed up! After being gone all of last week on vacation I come back to work for one day before having a day off again. Not much got finished at work yesterday as it started off with the Monday morning marathon meeting before only having a few hours in the afternoon to dig out and catch up. It doesn't matter what I'm scheduled, there are never enough hours in the week and it's only going to get worse as we head into nicer weather. Wouldn't it be great if work could be stress free and the day flowed perfectly like good singletrack from the time you punched in to the end?

I'm still waiting on any word about my Chequamegon Fat Tire entry. Some people have had their checks clear late last week which gets them to the starting line. If I need to write another letter to get in, I might just start looking for another event on that weekend. Composing a letter about why you want to ride this event for the 13th time can get pretty tiresome when it's happened the last three out of five years.

My time last week in Michigan was good for my base miles as I got four days of mountain bike riding in and two on the road bike. The weather wasn't much different from Wisconsin, but it was a good change of scenery with different roads and the MMBA singletrack I mountain biked on at Ella Sharp Park and Island Lake State Park. Today I'm heading out for a long road ride with Mr. WORS aka Big D(famous this week because of his Velonews 3/27/06 article about race promoters) and McGibby. The temps are going to be nearing the mid 50's by noon time with sunny skies and no chance of rain. The perfect prescription for enjoying a day off from work. Three guys on road bikes enjoying miles of back country roads with some good conversation thrown in to spice things up.
