WORS Subaru Cup/PRO XCT Course Preview

Made it down to Mount Morris, WI tonight to ride Saturday's pro xc course. Pulled into the parking lot to find one of my favorite Team EXPO Jr racers getting suited up to ride. The course had been marked earlier today making it easy for Myles Beach and me to get around without the aid of the soggy map that was stuffed into my Twin 6 jersey pocket. The first lap was more of a warm-up/ sighting lap and our second lap was a good steady pace without having to over think about where we were going. Just a anaerobic stroll around and up the ski hill following the big white arrows that Dave Reich put up on the 4ish mile pro course. Even with rains earlier in the day, the course handled the moisture very well. A few corners were slick, but otherwise traction was primo in the wooded single track that switch backed up and down between ski runs. It may get somewhat challenging on race day if more rain falls, but everyone will literally be in the same boat no matter what Mother Nature throws at us. Overall it's going to be a leg burner of a course for us racers with the short punchy climbs thrown into each of the 7 laps. This will make for a great spectator venue watching the best go at it from all over North America in the pro classes or for cheering on friends and family members duking it out in their respected race categories. Thanks to Don and WORS for putting on an event like the Subaru Cup and bringing back the PRO XCT(national event) back to Wisconsin and the Midwest! It's been too long since the last one was held at Alpine Valley in 2002. Pedal on...
