It's All About the Pave, Cobbles & Gravel Sectors in the Spring

The photo above is from the start of the tough 1 mile long Sager Rd gravel/sand sector at the Barry-Roubaix in Michigan at the end of this past March.  This was the section on the course that hurt me the most on lap two and pretty much ended what started off as a good day at an event that is just going to grow larger as the word gets out.  I'll definitely be coming back in 2011 to try my luck again.  This Sunday is our very own "Hell of the North" here in Central Wisco with one of my favorite routes, the "Point du Nord".   This Spring Classic Training ride throws close to 30 miles of the best gravel roads we could find in this area with 7 challenging sectors to navigate through over the course of the 68 mile route.  The weather will be the deciding factor with what type of day it will be for the attendees.   Eat and caffienate well on Sunday morning for this ride.  Here's hoping for a great turnout.  Pedal on...
