2009 Race Entry Fees

A quick summary of what most of my expenses look like for an average endurance racer chasing a dream to go out to 24 hour nationals this season. Not included are costs associated with wear and tear on bikes. Of course, a few races could be eliminated to lower the expense that include travel and lodging, which would ultimately make my wife(major sponsor) really happy.

***RACES/EVENTS/RIDING

>>Trans Iowa v5 - No Entry Fee(Lots of Fun w/ good people)
>>24 Hours of 9 Mile Solo - $280.00 before March 20th
(race fee increased 3x from the 2008 amount)
>>24 Hour Nationals-Moab Solo - $280.00 before March 20th
>>Mohican 100 - $130.00 before April 15th
>>Lumberjack 100 - $130.00 paid
>>Chequamegon Fat Tire 40 - $67.00 postmarked by March 15th
>>IceMan Cometh - $70-75?? online February 27th 6pm CST
>>WORS Series 7-9 races @ $30-$36 per event(Series Reg. $30??)
>>Copper Harbor Mtb Fest - $40-$50??

***Not including lodging, gas, food, misc, yearly trail passes to 9-Mile, Standing Rocks and USA Cycling License.

It looks like a good time(year) to ebay all the extra parts & pieces I have in the basement along with a bike or two.

All is well when I'm out biking. If you get back to Wisco at all, let me know.

Where do you get $280? I see the entry for Moab/9 mile as $310 at the cheapest.

wow. $$ 280 to laird for the "new" 24-9 solo ?? Natl Endurance events at $$ 130 ??

these type events grew from grassroots, to now near ironman pricing schedules. i am what - going to go do one with my family ?? don't think so. 24-9 will not be the same, i do not think - laird cancelled how many of his races again last season at the last minute ?? he priced out the very people who made the sport !!

on a brighter note - we have it so good with wems, wors, and the local point-to-points. . . . . . . . . . . .

Charly - check out this link to GG. http://grannygear.com/Registration/register.php?race=ninemile&year=2009

What are we going to get that is so much different from what Team Sports presented when Kevin Eccles ran 24-9 for an entry that is 3x as much?

Interesting -- the pricing table says $310, but once you're in registration it's $280 until 3/20. Hmmm ...

Big Bear too.

The GG site seems to be confusing at the moment. Hopefully things will get cleared up so that it's easier to navigate through.
