The Hell of Wisconsin Squared?
The H8TR 100k in Madison on Saturday and the Point du Nord Spring Classic 110k in Point on Sunday both look to be mud bogs as Mother Nature keeps pounding the state with more bad weather. Maybe the forecast will change, maybe we'll get lucky? I'm not doing a whole lot with the Tricross or making any panic tire changes as I'm happy to stick with the 700x32 Specialized Houffalize CX that are mounted on my wheels now. What's on the bike is what I'll pedal no matter what the conditions. It's not worth the stress trying to figure out the ultimate set-up when the H8TR is kind of a laid back tough mother of an event that can be made even worse with a little snow and rain added to the mix to make your legs hurt some more on the rail trails. I guess I'll just have to pedal on this weekend and enjoy being around friends...

SC, doesn't appear like you're guessing at all. Sounds like a good plan. I think you can ride with friends AND pin your ears back and get nasty (and look nasty with the mud)! Just as well when you spend 3-4 hours away from your 2 girls. Make it count! Git-R-Done!
Unfortunately my brother, Don Edberg, and I have pulled the plug on the H8TR. With the shitty weather we have and the new addition to my family with the adoption happening on Monday, I have other things I can get done here and ride the trainer if need be. Good luck to all you H8TR's.
Thatz a good call...Itz too close to the T.I. You need to sit back and relax and get ready to pull my sorry old bones across Iowa in just two weeks!!!! Best Regards and Congrats on the new addition to the Scole Train!!!!! :)
