I'm Losing My Mind, Maybe...
With it only being -8F outside, all I'm thinking about are the events that seem to motivate me year after year. My short list includes Trans Iowa, 24-9, Chequamegon 40, and the IceMan Cometh. Throw in the Lumberjack 100 in June and all I think about is turning the cranks over mile after mile 24 hours a day. I guess I'm unlike most people I've known throughout the years who drift in and out of many different sports when they lose interest as cycling is a huge part of my lifestyle and what I do to earn a living everyday. On my bike, all problems and concerns disappear as I ride my favorite routes, trails or explore new roads without any destination in mind. I've always told new cyclists that it's all about the feeling at the end of an event or ride that counts, and if you didn't have fun, you're probably not in the right sport. Starting my 20th year of competitive cycling I'm still having lots of fun and cannot imagine what I'd do if I wasn't riding my bike with my family(daughter, wife, brother), friends and at the many events that I participate in throughout the season. Pedal on...

You riding the 29'r for XC this year instead of the Epic? I feel like I'm gonna be the last guy on 26" wheels...

Mike, I'll go back and forth between the Epic frameset I have coming and the 29er I got last Fall. It all depends on the courses and the races(Lumberjack 100, 24-9 Solo, WORS, etc). I'm still sold on the Epic as my primary bike with the 29er being my backup for 24-9 and a good option for different xc courses. If you can get up to Stevens Point this Spring to ride with Chris and I, you'll have to give my 29er a good try at 9-mile or Standing Rocks. Scott

J-Lund, I'll make sure and let you know about riding this season. I want to get to the UnderDown trails also. That's one place I've never ridden.
