Bike Swap 08
I just returned home from a long day that started at 4am this morning. Myself and two co-workers traveled to Madison, Wisconsin for the annual Cronometro Bike Swap at the Alliant Center to move some old bike parts and accessories. This is billed as one of the top three biggest events like this in the country. Once the doors opened after 9am all tables were free game to the stampeding bike addicts looking for the ultimate deal on whatever bike related must have item they could get their hands on. The best thing in my opinion about the bike swap besides lots of parts and pieces is that you actually get to see many of the people that you are around all summer long at different races and events throughout the state. I was actually proud of myself as I only spent a total of $15 on two BKB H2O bottles and some Ernesto Lube.
This was one of my best days ever at this swap as I came home with more money than what I took into the swap with me. After leaving with cash in our pockets, our bodies were revived before heading north with a stop at Pasqual's Salsaria on Monroe Street which has become one of my favorite food stops when in Madison. We also managed to stop in and checkout Erik's(Specialized) new bike shop and the Trek store near the East Towne Mall before starting our snowy drive up the interstate towards quiet central Wisconsin. Next up this weekend is either xc skiing or some winter riding depending on what the weather conditions look like early tomorrow morning. Pedal on...
