After taking it easy for the last 3 days I'm already itching to get back on the bike. Tomorrow I'll force myself into commuting since it's a long day and I'll need some fresh air after a Friday at work. I thought I could leave the bike alone for at least a week, but I seriously got board with being lazy in front of the TV and need to keep my mind and body in a healthier state of well being. Today was depressing as the singletrack at Standing Rocks closes for the season as deer hunting season starts tomorrow. It'll probably not snow until after New Years now with my luck. The Trans Iowa roster is growing quickly as just over fifty spots remain before the cut-off at the end of November. I'm glad to see the Polska Team of Marcin, Maciej, Doug and Craig back at it again along with Dr Gary Cale from my hometown of Jackson, Michigan. I heard a rumor that Charlie Farrow may also come down from the Duluth area to experience this epic of a gravel grinder. The more the merrier. No matter what or who shows up, TI4 will be quite a challenge again with its mix of gravel roads and whatever mother nature decides to throw in at the end of next April, plus the 330 miles or more. It's always good to have a goal of just finishing this event hanging out there like a big carrot on a stick in just over five months to keep me somewhat motivated through the holidays. Yes, I am crazy and people often remind of this Trans Iowa and 24 hr solo illness that I must have contracted. Pedal on...

Hey, I convinced Shelly to send in a postcard, so hopefully you will see her name on the list tonight or tomorrow.
Another Jackson cyclist on the TI4 roster would be awesome! I'll be looking for her name. Thanks.
Hey Scott...I made mention on your blog!!!! SWEET!!!! You had a great year!!! Now don't get your hopes up too much, but there is a chance that you could make my top ten list of greatest 2007 cycling accomplishments...I'll let you know in the next few weeks. I heard that the 24 Hour National Championships are back at Wausau...I guess thatz a good thing, but it sure seems to take the "snap" out of a guyz legs:) I sent the Trans-Iowa guyz three post cards on last Wednesday (11/13) but as of now I am not on the Roster...I hope I get on so you and I can stick it to all the youngin's!!! Have a great Holiday season.
Charlie
Charlie, I'm planning on giving it to the youngin's at both the TIV4 and 24-9 this year and will welcome your company on the gravel and singletrack. Have a great T-Day!
