Fat Tire 40

It looks like the temps are going to hit the low 30's during the night before the massive main street start on Saturday morning. You may be chilled on the start line, but things will definitely heat up once you hit Rosie's Field and start climbing on the Birkie trail. Things to get done in the next few days include bike prep, tire choices, race cloths to pack and the usual goal of not panic packing the morning that we leave to head North.

Tonight I did manage to get in a good road ride getting my legs moving again after Sundays depressing race at the back of the pack. The 40 is always an exciting weekend with all the people and events. Hopefully some of the excitement will caring me to a good finish. Pedal on and dress warm...

Any suggestions on tires? I'm thinking of my normal hardpack setup -- Racing Ralph on the front, Python on the back. Never been, should be a good time!

Those sound like a good choice if the area doesn't get lots of rain. I'm looking at using my S-Works Fast Trax SLK tire front and rear.
