Not exactly the day or race I wanted for my final 24 solo effort, but I finished what I started and that made it worth while. I ended up being off the bike for 8 hours in the night with bad stomach issues that killed all of my competitive drive along with a badly timed flat after passing my brother. When I crawled out of the tent at 6:15 in the morning I decided to get back on the bike and finish this event by having fun. I managed to get in another great 3 laps with about a minute to spare before the clock struck 24 hours. I wish I would have felt as good as I did this morning for the whole race, but that's life and you never know what's going to be thrown at you. 19th overall out of 31 in the solo championship category wasn't close to my goal or my ability, but for my final solo 24 it was very rewarding with the pit crew I had helping and the friends who keep on cheering no matter how you're feeling or end up in the race. Thanks guys!

Great Effort. You finished what you started when most would have thrown in the towell. That's inspiring.
Thanks for a good time and be sure to thank your guys for all there help.
Scott,
Thank you so much for being an inspiration to me during my first 24 hour race. This is the most fun I've had on an mtb this season and now know after completing one that this is the path for me. I look forward to many rides in the future. Way to finish off a difficult race. I had some heartburn issues that made me feel borderline sick to my stomach, but I took more breaks and let it settle in between.
May not have been the perfect race, but at some time we all have one. Most would've packed up and gone home, but you finished in style, and sometimes that speaks more volume then placing high in the ranks. Races like these just fuel the flames for the next one.
