Tonight's road ride was good for my body and soul as all cylinders are firing smoothly without that hard of an effort as we cruised through a 50 miler. From here on out everything else leading up to 24-9 in the next week is about recharging the body, relaxing and making sure I go into this 24 hour race not feeling flat or sick. I'm already starting to mark things off my checklist as the week progresses. My top 10 on the list so far...
- Battery charging and run time on lights good.
- Tent, mechanic, tools, and bike repair stand all set.
- Nutritional supplements are being organized for each lap.
- Plans for setting up pit and location coming together.
- Pre-ride of course this next weekend.
- List of food to get me through the night almost complete.
- Race clothing and extras for whatever is thrown at us by Mother Nature being organized.
- Baby sitter for weekend already booked to free up Laura in the pits.
- Both bikes will be race ready by Monday at the latest if all goes well.
- Am I mentally and physically ready for what could be my last 24 solo race? Yes.

when are you going to pre-ride the course this weekend?
I would like to on Saturday morning around 9am.
You said last year was you last 24 hour race...
Okay I am going to try to make it saturday. I have a new front derailure and am looking for a 27.2 seatpost for my nitrous I am also missing the cap to my headset I just installed so I am on the lookout for that to. I'll give you a buzz and let you know what the story is.
This will be my last solo at 24 hrs unless a fountain of youth magically appears in my backyard. It doesn't rule out going 12hrs solo or being part of a team.
