Rain
Today is off to a great start with it being a wet morning. Tonight is the first night of hosting the Tuesday night HBNSC road ride from the Hostel Shoppe. No, I won't be riding my mountain bike with the roadies tonight like some of my fellow solo racers do on group road rides. I haven't ruled it out after having done it in the past, but I'm still a little sore from my crash on Sunday at 9-mile and need to take care of my old body today. With the 24 hour National course in my back yard I have a pretty good handle on what the course will be like with the addition hopefully of the new section 6 and 13 singletrack. The Ho Chi Minh singletrack is also is getting to be a bike stopping section considering the number of flats in this section during this past weekends WORS race. I do agree with Kerkove that the solo winner will total close to 300 miles if the conditions are dry. I also feel that some competitors will look at this as an easy Midwest venue and in the end the early fast pace could bring down some of the top solo racers. This past weekends WORS race conditions would have been perfect until you try to add in Flower Trail from past events which is currently surrounded by muck and water on the ski trails. Unless it rains continously, these sections should be perfect come the end of July. I just got my season pass for 9-mile which will see more of me on the trails this Summer before 24-9 this year to get the bike dialed in for whatever course is thrown at us. Group road ride report later.

9 Mile is going to be a death march this year. Everyone need to bring their "A" game to survive.

Jeff, Keep suffering on your weekly road training rides on the RUSH so we can see some great results at 24 Nats. Good luck this weekend!
