My 24-9 Weekend

xtrphoto.com WOW!

ERGON PODIUM PIC & NEWS

A BIG THANKS needs to go out to Specialized Bicycles, the Hayes Bicycle Group, Ergon, Twin 6, Adventure 212 and my pit crew that included Scott, Sandy, Josie, Mark, Lowell and the never ending encouragement from the World Bicycle Relief pits. Without great products and a focused pit crew it would have been very hard for me to stay focused on my goals for 24 hours. Last, but most important, I need to thank my wife LAURA (today's our 18th wedding anniversary) for putting up with me as I trained for 24-9. I believe that I probably drove her absolutely crazy in the last few weeks as my nerves and stress should have been bad enough for her to kick me out of the house on any given day. What a ride...

Huge victory! Your consistency moved you up in the ranks. More impressive is doing this while in your 40s along with adding another family member this year.

Thanks! It's been a rough few months with the new addition in April. This has been my main focus and everything played out perfectly following my game plan with no bike or stomach issues this year. Now I just need to get younger and recover faster...

Having you fly by me in the AM was my most favorite part of the entire weekend. You were amazing!

Thanks Cornbread! I just saw the TI V5 announcement a few minutes ago. It's too early to start thinking about Iowa gravel...

Scott,
Awesome job at 9 mile. It was nice riding with you at night right before I crawled into my own personal hell. Good luck with the rest of your season. I'm sure I'll run into you again sometime next year.
